Iron Golem Games
IRON GOLEM GAMES is proud to bring you into the Blood Legacy setting. Our first book, EVERSTONE, will hit the shelves in June and so far it all looks to be on schedule. We just came back from the GAMA show in Las Vegas and what a great time we had and what a bunch of awesome people. A lot of exciting products coming our way.
EVERSTONE
Everstone is only the beginning of the Blood Legacy role-playing game. Its an awesome 256 page book with some of the coolest art you could lay your eyes on. Go ahead and click on the link above to take a look at what I mean. We have also provided the first two chapters as a pdf to let you wet your appetite.
Our follow up book, The Shroud, should be out around August. Its about done, and we have included some of the concept art to give you an idea of what you will find. Also, we have our first online quarterly, The Lannith Companion, available for a cheap aid supplement for players and Game Masters alike. It will give you dozens of hours of play and can be used over and over again with all the stuff we loaded into it.
OUR RPG SYSTEM (BESM d20)
At Iron Golem Games we are all for increasing the network and playability of games between players. The d20 system has made it so players can link their games like never before. Everybody knows how to play it! And bringing new players to your group is easy when they already know the mechanics of the system you are using. Also its no big deal to give your campaign a rest and switch gears to another setting for a few sessions to give your Game Master a break and let one of the players jump in with one of their favorite settings. For this reason we too have used a version of the d20 system that makes it so you can use our game with other d20 supplements as well as make it so players can jump right in. We use the BESM d20 rules (follow the link button above to find out more about Guardians of Order and the awesome BESM d20 book they put out) to bring out the swashbuckling and fast play aspect of the Blood Legacy setting. Although the system has a few cosmetic changes, it is still completely compatible with the core rules. The best additions to the rules are the use of Character Points and Energy Points.
Character Points - Every level characters get character points to purchase attributes from either their race or class. Instead of simply going up a level and getting predefined abilities and powers, you get to pick and choose which abilities and powers your character gets, in what order, and you don’t even have to take those abilities which you don’t want. Heck, you don’t even need to take any of your class attributes if you want, simply spend the character points on extra Feats. It’s a great concept and adds a whole new aspect to the game. Character points can be spent to increase your base saves, grant you an extra hit dice, increase your base attack bonus, or increase your energy points (see below).
Energy Points - Like a hit dice, every race has a “energy dice” which they roll and increases the number of energy points they have. These energy points can be spent on special abilities, attributes and spells. In the Everstone book you can even spend these energy points to power rune weapons and magical tattoos.
